A little Sunday fishing tip that you can use bank fishing or fishing from a boat or kayak for bass this spring – it doesn’t matter! I am all about trying to integrate technology into fishing to be more efficient and catch more fish. Since I broke my other HDS Live screen a few months ago I wanted to play around with a tablet mod to provide more lake contour map information at the boat’s console. Basically I took an old tablet, a vice camera mount from my GoPros, and a tablet clamp and attached it to my Bass Boat Technologies sonar mount. I installed the Navionics app on my tablet which is a app that has countour maps of lakes across the U.S. The coolest part about this is I can study the lake I’m going to fish while I’m at home before I ever get out on the water – if it’s the spawn I can drop waypoints on areas that look promising for spring bass, if it’s summer I can focus on more offshore structure such as ledges. It deosn’t matter where you are – you can always be thinking about how to catch bass. I can mark all theses areas and have a plan on where to fish and focus more on what fishing techniques I’ll need to have ready.
